!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , I got a new strap for it. Incidentally it was one !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! that had recommended on my first post:
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Just took me a while to get it. Think it fits the watch nicely. I have been wearing my Day-Date on a NATO and I have been quite enjoying that.
So what’s everyone else wearing today?

Cool! I didn’t know Brietling digital displays. Still rolling the Apple Watch but I rolled my weekender on vacation last week because I did not plan to exercise

They do digital displays on some of their professional line, like the Emergency and Aerospace. This is one of the early ones, it was made in 1990 and used to belong to my granddad.

Working from home I haven’t worn a watch in months (or pants for that matter), but when I do go out I usually wear my Yacht Timer because it’s so comfortable

Work from home has me really messed up on the watch-wearing front. I’ve worn a watch maybe three times since the lockdown started.
I replaced the battery on my S3 earlier this year. The kit didn’t come with a replacement waterproof adhesive, so now the waterproofing isn’t guaranteed. That makes me a little leery about wearing it. :/

That is a fantastic looking watch, and generally I’m not a fan of Seikos.

Just picked up a Garmin forerunner 35 after giving my Samsung first gen watch to my brother.
The new strap fits that pretty good.

Do they not use gaskets?

Neat that it was ya granddads! All I have from my paternal grandfather is his little tackle box and memories of him telling me to stop sucking my thumb. I hadn’t fished in years because I FUCKING HATE it. But my little kiddo was very interested while we were up at my cabin last week.
Luckily the pond is hilariously easy to catch fish in... first cast, handed it to my daughter...fish!

Thanks! It was one of those watches that I had to buy the first time I saw it. And I haven’t seen another for sale since then, so I’d say it was a good purchase.

He was big into tech and gadgets and what not, so this was very fitting for him. I don’t remember him wearing it too much, but I know he did some.
I’m not much a fan of fishing either.

They do not. Much like a smart phone, there’s an adhesive layer between the back and main body which both holds the back in place and provides waterproofing. As long as you heat the back properly to loosen the adhesive and pry them apart carefully, the adhesive will remain intact and should hold with close to the same adhesion as when new. I was careful and I didn’t split the adhesive, but it still gives me pause when I think about sweat or water getting onto the watch.
The alternative is sending it back to Samsung for battery replacement. When I checked, that service was $250. I looked online and I can buy a brand new S3 for $245. That’s why I opted for a $20 battery kit from Amazon.

Ah that makes sense, also probably cheaper to manufacture.

If I recall correctly, the Tissot T-Touch and T-Navigator series are based on the same movement family and have a s LCD screen (there is only the bottom one on the Tissots) .

Is that an Alpine? Looking good, whatever it is.

No, it’s a random metallic blue OG Dacia Logan that was parked on the street in front of me, like this one :
Saw an Alpine last Friday but it was in blanc arctique :(

Nothing but the end of my sleeve tattoos, today. Hardly wear a watch anymore now that I work from home.

Sorry, i t’ s a HKED ED63 42mm in sunburst silver :)
Which is a bigger and more “modern” version of the reinterpretation of the 1963 Chinese Air Force watch that was originally from Seagull, which was using t he first Chinese designed movement (in fact its a modified Venus) .
There are multiple reinterpretations of the original watch, including one from Seagull and some from Russia and China .
